Thanks for taking a look at my F.A.Q!
This little page is to make sure you have all the info you need so there are no surprises, and you agree with my booking process and work style.
I am currently working at a Studio in Portland, Oregon.

How to book:

  • Fill out my booking request form completely. Please take your time with this part. There’s no rush.

  • Wait patiently for a response from dalbyw@folkhag.com (please don’t forget to check your spam)

  • Once I accept your proposal I will send you a link to my booking site where you can book an appointment and leave a deposit.

Deposits:

  • Your tattoo deposit is Non refundable and holds your appointment spot.

  • Deposits go towards the final cost of your tattoo. However, if your tattoo takes multiple sessions, your deposit will go towards the final session of the tattoo.

  • Deposits are $100 for tattoos estimated at $500 and under. Tattoo estimates over $500 will require a $200 deposit.

  • Deposits are non-transferable for Medium/Large flash and customs.

  • Changing minor things to better suit your taste is never a problem, but if you completely change the concept or a major element, you will have to pay a new deposit. Which is why it's always better to be over communicative about your tattoo design than under.

  • As always feel free to reach out with any design or placement questions.

    Pricing:

  • My rate is $150 an hour Flash is usually priced per piece depending on placement and size. Custom tattoos are a $200 minimum

  • Too many edits to a flash tattoo will result in it being a custom tattoo.

  • If you have a hard budget please let me know, that way we can create a tattoo that works or break up your tattoo into multiple sessions to better accommodate your budget.

  • Sizing-up will result in a new price.

  • Changing the placement to a more time consuming or sensitive area will also increase the price due to the extra care that will have to take place.

  • Cash is always the preferred method of payment at the end of your appointment. Venmo can be used in a pinch.

Tipping:

  • Tipping is always deeply appreciated but never required. Times are tough so if you want to show your appreciation in other ways I also accept: Snacks (I have no food restrictions), Drinks, Tea, Trinkets, Plants, Fossils, Bones, Preserved Bugs, Etc.

How to Prep for your appointment:

  • Please come in well rested, well fed, and hydrated.

  • Please keep caffeine to the minimum level of your tolerance. (If you drink a redbull in the morning, maybe have a strong cup of coffee instead)

  • Wear comfortable clothing that allows access to the area being tattooed

Can I bring somebody with me?:

  • I prefer you come alone to your appointment both due to limited studio space and so you and I can focus and communicate. However I know nerves are a thing, so if you must bring someone please keep it limited to one respectful person and let me know beforehand.

Can I see my drawing beforehand?:

  • Short answer is no, for a number of reasons but the major one is due to not want to create a back and forth email chain with innumerable drawing edits that take up both my work time for other clients and my free time and mess up my workflow.

  • There is always time scheduled before your appointment to make any minor changes to your tattoo to better fit your idea.

  • Exceptions to this rule are:
If I have too many ideas and need to run something by you.
    OR
If were working on a larger piece together in which I will send out the art the night before our appointment.

  • These will be sent out in their most basic sketch form and are just to convey ideas.
(This is why its important to  fill out the Tattoo description of the booking form as detailed as possible and add reference pictures. I'd rather you over communicate with me than under communicate.)

    Touch-up policy:

  • I offer a free touch-up within the first year.
Areas like fingers, ears, face, and neck are more prone to ink fading or falling out. I charge $50 per touch-up after the first free one.

If you have any questions at all, I am always available to contact at dalbyw@folkhag.com
